Frenectomy
One of the most common causes of gaps between the front teeth is an “active frenum”. The frenum is a thick band of tissue that attaches the lips to the gums. If the frenum is attached too close to the teeth, alignment of the front teeth can be affected, often resulting in a space that is difficult to close. At Sonne and Shapiro Dental, your dentist can use the VersaWave Dental Laser to easily remove the frenum, allowing the space to be closed and the smile restored.
